So how do you make your own Cayenne pepper weight loss cream

The easiest way to incorporate a herb into a cream base is to begin with a premade cream or oil base. The base must be a neutral base. So a neutral, fragrance free aqueous cream base is often a good place to start. Naturally, there are ingredients in there which perhaps are not as natural as your would like, but for most people who need to make a cream easily and quickly, this is one of the most practical ways to make your own cream.

The base also allows you to “experiment” with the amount of cayenne to add to the cream. Begin with a small amount of chilli pepper, try it. See how that works for you. Then experiment until you get the best results, making a note of the amount of chilli and base needed to make the best cream for you.

For purists and those who have the time to get the ingredients and make their own cream base –

You will need:

1 Cup of pure oil – grape-seed oil, almond oil
1/2 Cup of Beeswax
About 3 tablespoons of Cayenne chilli peppers – ground or in powdered for

In a double boiler bring the combine the chilli powder with the oil and heat for about 5 – 10 minutes. Remove from the heat and stir in the wax until it has melted and is thoroughly mixed into the oils. Allow the mixture to cool – just warm to the touch. Use a blender or stick blender to blend the mixture well. Place in the fridge for 10 minutes. Then blend the mixture again. Put the cream into a prepared sterilized glass jar with an airtight lid. Keep refrigerated. It should last for about 2 weeks.

For added anti-inflammatory qualities add 1 tablespoon of Tumeric – which also has been shown to aid inflammation and pain.

Important note

Capsaicin can cause redness, rash and swelling on the skin. The stronger the chilli you use to make the cream – the stronger the cream will be. So its best to start with a weaker chilli pepper and test the reaction on the skin before you go off and try a version made with Habanero chillis for example.
