Cabbage Diet Food
The humble cabbage turns out to be a weight loss winner. High in fiber and other nutrients and low in calories means that cabbage belongs on any good eating plan and in most of our pantries.
In fact cabbage is one of the lowest calories foods you can eat and with no fat, its a great vegetable to keep as a snack or for salads or to cook.
In fact cabbage is so good for weight loss that the “cabbage soup diet” has been around for many years. And whilst the diet will help you lose weight, like most soup diets and restricted eating plans it is really hard to stick to in the long run and so not really suitable for long term weight loss changes.
Cabbage contains glucosinolate which is reported to help increase endurance and promote weight loss. It also encourages the body to use fat for fuel so it helps to burn fat in the body.

They are very high in vitamin A carotenoids, vitamin C, folic acid, and fiber – which are all good for weight loss. They are also high in Vitamin K which fights inflammation. They contain good amounts of omega 3 fatty acids which are excellent for weight loss and cholesterol.

Cabbage is great if eaten raw in salads, it can be added to stir-fried dishes for fiber and bulk, it can be cooked, baked and steamed. It can even be pickled and kept for months as a condiment. It is a versatile veggie that will keep you full, happy and healthy.
Cabbage diet food is one of my favorite fat burning foods. Keeping cabbage slaw in the fridge as a stand by for sudden food cravings means you get the fat burning properties of cabbage and the convenience of fast food. Cabbage and bacon in winter is a great standby meal too.
